Our sugar is sourced from a farmer owned cooperative in Idaho. Our durable plastic long-term storage buckets contain approx. 20 lbs. of White Sugar that is sealed in re-sealable 4.3 mil Mylar bags, so the shelf-life is 25+ years*, so you can pour out as much as you can use in the foreseeable future then immediately re-seal the Mylar (an inexpensive electric hair straightener can be used!) to send your sugar back into long-term storage freshness.
*Shelf life in the bucket is at least 25 years. Best when stored in a cool and dry place at temperatures between 55°F and 70°F.
FOOD STORAGE RECOMMENDATION: Minimum 40 lbs. of white sugar per adult/per year. (This amount is based on the recommendations listed in the LDS Church’s Home Production and Storage manual. These figures are recommendations, and are basic year supply minimums only. You will need to choose the best options and foods you should store for your family.) Our 4-gallon heavy-duty stackable square buckets are strongly recommended for storage purposes!! They are lined with air-tight, RE-SEALABLE* 4.3 ml Mylar bags and have Oxygen Pack inserts to keep them fresh, delicious, and pest-free for 25+ years!
AVAILABLE IN: 4 gallon long-term storage bucket (approx. 20 lbs.) with RE-SEALABLE* 4.3 mil Mylar Liner

*Re-Sealable (so… use it up as you go!)
The Mylar is heat-sealed (which makes the bag re-sealable). The sealed Mylar will stay air-tight if it’s not punctured. Because it is re-sealable you can snip a corner off the bag, pour out as much product as you’ll use in the next few months, then quickly* re-seal the Mylar and send your food back into long-term storage. The oxygen pack should continue to do its job as long as you re-seal the Mylar as quickly as possible. IMPORTANT: If your bag is left open for more than 30 minutes, you will want to toss in a new oxygen pack before re-sealing to ensure long-term freshness. If you have opened and re-sealed multiple times, and want to store the remainder for many years, you will want to put in a new oxygen pack.
